The large-scale housing colony that eventually became known as “Reve” was first imagined in 1998, while working in the Auroville community. The individual house designs are based around a modular system, allowing the flexibility of living and use of space that is needed by the residents of the community.  When the second phase of construction was completed In 2000, 40 houses were standing, but the design allows for a limitless number of unique, multi-functional residences to be built as needed.
